Registered PNG water specialists
Eastern Sons Drilling and Engineering Services (ESDES) is a fully registered PNG firm specialised in water resources investigation and development, based in Kefamo, Goroka.
Our story
ESDES works with clients in the agriculture, mining, petroleum, urban and rural water sectors. Our people have more than 10 years in the field and provide technical input across the whole project cycle, from water resources assessment and planning to drilling, supervision and long-term monitoring. We work closely with the Mineral Resource Authority (MRA), Water PNG and other industry partners.

Over 25 years of drilling experience. Former Schlumberger field specialist (2013 to 2020) in geological analysis and drilling data interpretation, working across Australia, New Zealand, PNG, Indonesia, the UAE and the Philippines. Project Engineer at Ok Tedi Mining (2009 to 2012).
Kerry Kimiafa, B.Sc.
Chief Engineer
Team leader and site supervisor with Water PNG on the ADB 10 Towns groundwater program and water supply drilling. Project manager of the Yawasoro Water Supply Project, led the Murua River survey for Kerema and the Ramu River bore investigation in Kainantu, and served as UN CIFOR principal scientist on the Waigani Wetland project.
